Bridal Gown

C.1950s This wedding gown was made for the young women by her mother who was a seamstress for a well known design house in New York. The lace is all Italian hand made lace and the satin is beautiful. The women, who's gown this is, was said that her mother took her inspiration from Renaissance which can be seen in the shaped wired collar, sleeves and lower bodice. The dress has two petticoats. The lowest one is a crinoline then a petticoat set with panniers. The gown is opening front to show the under petticoat which is covered in white tulle over satin. The lace is decorated with sequins that were all attached by hand. A REALLY long train and long veil. There are numerous breaks in the lace throughout the different lace areas and the tulle veil is not in the best of shape, it could be shortened to use. The dress closes with zipper up the center back.

C.1920s An incredible handmade lace wedding gown with the wax flower dress ornament. The gown was made in France from "Ardanse" The lace is so beautiful and fine of the highest quality. The dress has a slightly scooped neckline and long very narrow sleeves. The gown has a short hemline in front and trains down and out onto the floor behind. The skirt of the gown is draped to the left hip where the wax flower bouquet is attached. There are just a couple of breaks in the lace on the arm near the shoulder. Hand bound seams s can be seen in the photo of the lable.

C.1950s White lace wedding gown with strapless white rayon slip. The dress has a scooped neckline and small covered buttons that close up the center back of the dress. Short little sleeves and a fitted bodice. The skirt and bodice join at the dropped waistline seam. The full skirt is gathered tightly into the dropped waist seam starting right and left of the flat center.

C.1918-1925 Totally gorgeous ivory silk satin wedding gown with a cowl collar and decorative matching fabric rosettes down the center back. The bodice of the gown is drapes over the skirt waist seam and is tacked to the silk understructure. The understructure does have some splitting. The gown hooks up the center back on both the inner and outer garment. The snaps close along the waistline seam. The skirt is gathered into the waistline seam and falls to the hem. The sides of the skirt are pulled up and stitched to create to large puffs of fabric on the right and left sides at the seams to reveal the top most petticoat of dotted silk tulle with bands of matching satin. Under this petticoat is another petticoat of white silk organza.

C. 1930s Gorgeous white silk satin wedding gown with beaded and pearled white net lace bertha collar, Deep v-neckline with an attached wax orange blossom flower nosegay. At center front, both side seam and center back are 9 inch runs of shirring. Center front inverted v-shaped panel increases skirt volume. Ruffles are attached to the skirt beginning to the left and right of the inverted panel. The dress dips down in the back to be considered the train. Now there is are two holes in the skirt in back down near the hem. To wear the dress would need to be shortened slightly. I think it is safe to say that the bride caught her heel while dancing at her reception. Measurements; bust 30, waist 30, hips 35, length 52 in front and 57 in back, Condition; Excellent

C. 1930s Beautiful ivory silk velvet wedding gown with it's original veil and stored in the original silver foil storage box from the dressmakers. The dress has a rounded neckline and short puffy sleeves that are lined in tulle for shape and form. In the box there was additional lower sleeve so I guess the sleeves were shortened. Bodice is gently gathered into two side bust darts. Side seam snaps. The gown falls freely to the lower seam, which joins the bias cut flounce. Beautiful fabric and timeless design. Bust measures 32, waist is 30, hips are 36 inches, length is 60 inches. The Veil of silk tulle is set onto a formed crown with white beads and pearls. Little white lilies of the valley are sewed to the tulle. The veil length is 120 inches and the tulle is not in the best of shape. Condition: Excellent

C.1880s Ivory silk satin wedding skirt from the 1880s, wish I had the bodice. This skirt must have been worn in the winter because it is lined for warmth. Trained in back and has a hook and eye waistband closing. The fabric has separated from the waistband in a three-inch long area, also two other separations about 1/2 inch long on the skirt.
