C.1940S Sweet chocolate brown wool felt little round hat with extra long netting that covers the face and neck. Flap that hugs the back of the head to help balance the forward tilt of the hat. Ladies would sometimes bobby pin to the flap. Large brown button set with a brass ornament accents the center front of the hat.

C.1940S fun little hat that some friends found for me in Belgian. It is green taffeta with black velvet dots. The hat just sort of perches on the top of the head just back from the forehead.

C.1940S this is from the late 30s or early 40s and is just wonderful! A green straw hat with a tightly rolled brim edged in Kelly green gross-grain ribbon. The narrowing crown tilts forward. The forward motion of the crown only intensifies the tilt with the hat sitting so far forward on the head. Love this style of hats. Two wooden hand painted buttons accent the gross-grain green ribbon around the crown.

C.1940S A wonderful Milgrim creation sold by Neiman Marcus. The turban is in metallic threaded fabric in the rose tones, green and blue. The front, sides and back of the turban are pleated around the hat to lap at center back. The crown is pleated to the center back and is stiffened to stand upright at center front.

C.1940S Another great hat by Janet of black wool felt that fits snug to the head and is covered on one side with stripes of matching black felt. The strips of felt in the front sweep across and over the side back. Along the right side the stripes of felt are draped off the side in a row of loops.

C.1940s Pauline Trigere also designed hats like this black lace hat decorated with rhinestones in two sizes. The crown of the hat is sheer lace and a band of large rhinestones encircles the base of the crown. Little black velvet bow at center back. The brim is comprised of two layers of lace with a light horsehair between for stability. Late 40s.maybe even into the early 50s.
