C.1940s Pauline Trigere also designed hats like this black lace hat decorated with rhinestones in two sizes. The crown of the hat is sheer lace and a band of large rhinestones encircles the base of the crown. Little black velvet bow at center back. The brim is comprised of two layers of lace with a light horsehair between for stability. Late 40s.maybe even into the early 50s. |

C.1950s A very fun “New Look†halo hat from Dache. The frame is an off-width halo edged in black velvet with matching black velvet bow. The basket weave is a fuzzy fabric that is held in place with black threading. Some of the fuzz is rubbed off and the black is faded to a charcoal gray. |

C.1957-65 A wonderful hat from the Paris designer Jacques Heim best known for his haute couture. Like most of the designers he did do accessories to go with his some of his designs. This little cloche is turquoise silk with black tulle lining with a little matching turquoise velvet bow. The cloche is covered in black tulle with coiled black silk cording, black payettes and black faceted beads. The coiled cord covering is pleated and “slouched†around on the form. The hat is soft not rigid. |

C.1950s From the designer Howard Hodges a flat wide brim dyed black straw and looped raffia flat wide brim hat with an open crown. The hat is made in a pocket-like construction. The underside of the brim is the lower layer of the pocket and it has the gross-grain ribbon hat band and elastic that snugs down on the head and the elastic goes around the back of the head down near the hair line. Hat is to be worn snugged down on the head and slightly tiled. The hat comes with it's original flat box, which has seen better days but at least the brass carry handle is still attached. |

C. 1950s Great layered black horsehair saucer hat with a red rose on the underside of the saucer. The hat is built in concentric or coiled cirles ending on the top of the crown. Built upon a small black satin from with black velvet covered wire form that hugs the head to stablize the hat. |

C. 1950s This little hat is from either the late 40s into the early 50s and is a light or cocoa brown wool felt. The hat has a domb crown and a turned up brim with cutouts that show the white pique fabric behind the brim. A pheasent feather is threaded through the burnt orange netting. A large matching felt bow accents the center back. |
