1940s Ladies Clothing

Navy blue pin-striped dress with matching leather belt with winged buckle. The dress is a shirtwaist style with center front buttons. The fabric in the shoulder yoke is run in the opposite direction as the rest of the garment. Just below the yoke on the front of the dress are a couple of rows of shirring that creates a nice bit of draping down over the bust line. Bust darts from the waistline seam. The skirt has narrow fixed pleats that are released just about at the knee level.

Great late 30s to early 40s suit of navy blue silk crepe jacket and a patterned silk crepe skirt in navy red and white. The navy blue jacket has a wide rounded collar and ties at the center throat. The elbow length sleeves have a wide ruffle. Large pearl styled buttons close the center front of the jacket. The slightly a-line skirt has a zipper closure.

Mavue cotton dotted Swiss dress. The dress is a shirt waist style with short sleeves and bodice yoke. The short sleeves have a little tab that gathers the outside of the sleeve slightly. The collar is small and pointed. A small breast pocket is set on the right side of the bodice. The buttons extend all the way down to the hem.

Great red, black, white and yellow plaid taffeta evening gown with matching wide belt. The dress has a v-neckline and is sleeveless. The shoulders extend slightly out over the upper arm giving the appearance of a slight cap sleeve. Shoulder pads are still in place. The bodice has several pleats along the shoulder line that release their fullness into the center front of the bodice. The full skirt has fixed pleats that extend down into the skirt four inches and then release into the fullness of the skirt. Side seam zipper.

Black crepe dress with 3/4 sleeves. High rounded neckline. Dress is decorated with turquoise and whole metal studs set in a framework of gold braid trim. This triangular decoration is used to decorate the bodice and as the little triangular pockets on the skirt. A couple rows of shirring provide a slight bit of volume in the bodice. On the front of the skirt there are fixed pleats. These pleats release their fullness below mid thigh. Original belt is till with the dress. Very minor discoloration underneath the arms. There is some fading to the back at the neckline. Some of the paint has chipped of the studs on the pockets.

Black faille dinner dress with collarless v-neckline and matching belt. The bodice and the short sleeves are cut in one. The bodice has a single seam that runs up the center of the left side the fabric is draped and pleated into this seam right to left. The slim skirt joins the bodice at the natural waistline. On the left front of the skirt the fabric turns back on itself to a hidden center front seam to give the appearance of a wrapped skirt. The fabric is draped and pleated from right to left to be secured at the fixed leaded edge of the faux wrap. The dress closes with a center back zipper.

Lovely navy silk crepe print dress with the floral print down in white, pink and green. The bodice of the dress is v-neck with shirring across the shoulders. A pleat runs at a downward angle from the outside shoulder to the center front ending in a matching bow. The sleeves are 3/4 length. Side seam zipper closes the dress. The skirt and bodice join at the natural waistline. The skirt has two 2 inch wide pleats that run across the front of the skirt horizontally and tie in a bow on the left side.
