C.1940s A Helen of California brown silk crepe dress with off-set center front covered buttons that travel down the bodice and half down the skirt. The long narrow sleeve is cut in one with the bodice. Side seam darts shape the bust area. The skirt and bodice join at the natural waistline. There is pleating in the skirt one the right front and left backside of the skirt. Starting just left of center on the back of the skirt is a draped peplum that wraps around the waist to the left front side of the skirt and continues down the button placket to the hem. The peplum widens as it wraps around to the front and then starts to decrease in width as it descends the skirt to the hem. Shoulder pads and two matching rhinestone dress clips at the neckline. C.1940s Green silk crepe dress with a draped high neckline. Shirring at the short sleeve seam at the shoulders and at the sleeve hem right and left of the row of center buttons. There is slight discoloration on the underarms. Shirring is also used at the base of the bodice of the yoke seam line and along the lower edge of the yoke. The shirring releases fullness into the bust area and into the skirt front. Matching belt. Pea sized hole on the back of the skirt by the hem. Center back neck zipper.

C.1940s Black crepe dinner dress with clear crystal beads, gold seed beads and rhinestones accenting the v-neckline. Multiply rows of shirring below the shoulder seams on the right and left front. The shirring creates fullness for the bust which is contained at the natural waistline seam with fixed pleats. The sleeves are glove length with the lower sleeve gathered into the sleeve seam. The skirt contains 12 gores. The belt pictured is not included with the dress it is a stock belt used for photos only.

C.1940s Black silk crepe dinner dress with silver beaded cowl neckline that is a deeply cut wide v-shape. Small cord tie is at center front collar. Glove length sleeves and shirring at the side seams. Left side seam zipper closes the dress. The bodice and skirt join at the natural waist in front and dips down across the back. C.1940s A nice dove gray wool suit jacket with a little pleated collar with embroidered dots. The dots are repeated again on the front of the jacket and the turned back cuffs on the long narrow sleeves. With the position of the tuck in the collar and the angled pointed yoke on the jacket form a bow shape. The jacket is pleated in the front for a very fitted and nipped in waist. Covered buttons close the center front of the jacket.

C.1940s A great looking two piece black silk crepe dress with matching jacket. The high sweetheart neckline on the dress is outlined with a looped matching crepe rope with bronze beaded wrapped around. The bodice is gathered in and shirred at the shoulder yoke seams. Glove length sleeves with shirring that gives a bit of gathering to the lower sleeve. The bodice and skirt meet at the natural waistline. The center front of the skirt is pleated left and right of a center-inverted pleat. Center back zipper closes the dress. The wonderful jacket is of matching black silk crepe and has the matching bead wrapped rope on the collar and totally covering the pockets. Long narrow sleeves. The bust fullness is gathered into the wide waistband. The cummerbund waistband is horizontally tucked and closes with covered buttons. The crepe covered buttons is coming off on the several of the buttons. Since this is the only place that buttons are used it would be a simple matter to replace the buttons.
