1940S Black rayon chiffon layered skirt with a black lace over pale pink rayon slip bodice has a slightly scooped neckline and a side seam zipper to close the dress. The lace over bodice is not attached to the under pink rayon slip and is cut in one with the sleeves. The skirt is layered with an under skirt of black rayon with the black rayon chiffon over with a small rayon chiffon peplum. There is a thread pull on the front of the peplum. The strapless evening gown has a gathered tulle bodice and a full double-layered skirt over black rayon under dress. The tulle bodice is attached to a mid-bodice yoke of magenta. A matching satin peplum accents the front of the skirt and then wraps around to the back to drape down to the hem. Center back zipper. Spot within the folds of the magenta rayon satin back drape. C. 1940s Black silk crepe cocktail hour dress with black and pale green sequins across the bodice and shoulders. Broad shoulder pads. The dress has a rounded neckline with hook at center back neck. The lower bodice of the dress is gently gathered into the sequined upper bodice. Short sleeves are cut in one with bodice. The skirt has a draped center front piece that is attached only at the front waist seam. The drape side measures 12 inches and dips to center front, at the hem, to 29 inches. There are large padded shoulders above long narrow sleeves that snap at wrists. Very Joan Crawford. Two zippers close this dress, one short at the back neck and the other at the left side seam. Just above the natural waistline seam, where bodice and skirt join is an applique� of gold cording and gold sequins. Over the slim skirt are two pleated panels cut on the diagonal. A line of blue and black beads trail down to the pointed mid-yoke The yoke is edged with blue and black beads and two matching triangles of blue beads edged in black decorate the center of the yoke. The bodice is gathered along the top edge of the yoke. The flowing skirt is gathered along the bottom edge of the yoke. The long narrow sleeve is has small shoulder pads at the top of the sleeve by the seam. A couple rows of shirring accent the shoulder seam area. The jacket is the “new look� style with nipped in waist and longer skirt. The Jacket closes with five covered buttons down center front. Two over-large patch pockets and glove length sleeves with turned back cuffs. Pointed collar and small lapels. Bust and body darts fro a better fit through the bust. The jacket hem angles down across the back.The dress is matching satin bodice with squared-off neckline, sleeves and side seam zipper. The straight skirt is black silk crepe. Textured black silk crepe evening dress accented with black jet beads and black sequins. Just below the high round neckline there are 4 sweeping lines of black jet beads and black sequins. Small shoulder pads out at the edge of the shoulders and into the top of the long narrow sleeve. Side seam and center back neck zipper. The waistline seam is set on at an angle sloping down to left hip area. An ovid yoke piece is attached at the waist seam from right side seam curving up to end at the waist seam 3-inches from side seam. The center front of the attached top skirt is attached to the yoke with a shirred front. The hem of this skirt piece is also cut on an angle right to left. The shirring helps this piece drape nicely. 1940S Lovely black silk crepe evening dress with side skirt draped backed in white satin. The vee-neck bodice and sleeves are cut in one with a series of darts at the shoulders that release as pleats down the front on the left and right side. The side seam zipper closes the dress. The bodice and skirt join at the natural waistline via a seam. The skirt is too the floor and narrow with two front drapes that lap right to left. The horizontal drape is made to look like a full peplum but only crosses right to left to be tucked into the vertical drape. The vertical drape s created by the wrapped portion of the skirt front as it is drawn up toward to left hip.
