50s Ladies Clothing

C.1950S A really wonderful looking pewter silk dress from Georgette Trilere that is old store stock, never worn. The dress is fitted through the bodice with tucks and darts. The open neckline is framed with a very dramatic shawl collar that stands a bit to frame the face. The fabric of the full collar is managed around the neckline with tucks and is pleated in at the center front fasteners. The collar closes with hidden snaps. The dress closes up the center front with covered buttons and hooks. The belt is missing. There is also a matching silk flower that has never been attached to the dress. It is connected to the store tag. The skirt is very slim and close to the body. Made for that Monroe hourglass shape.

C.1950S A Mr. Blackwell gray and silver silk cocktail or evening dress with a deep v-neckline accented with a huge ruffled layered collar that drapes around the shoulders forming short layered sleeves and down the back dress line on the open back. Across the front the collar is contained creating a shelf bust edged with a line of rhinestones. The dress is fitted snuggly to the body with the use of long tucks front and back. A very faint beige spot on the hem line.

The sleeves are very short and are cut in one with the bodice. The skirt joins the bodice at the natural waistline. The skirt is pleated and gathered into the waistline seam. The skirt has an attached crinoline that adds shape rather than volume

C.1950S Wonderful gray and white cotton tweed with matching bolero lined in bright lemon yellow. The dress has a scooped neckline in front and is high at the back. The dress is sleeveless and has a center back zipper. Down the center front bodice is a black gross-grain ribbon set with black buttons. This ribbon with buttons is made to give the dress a shirtwaist style appearance. Princess seaming in the dress provides a sliming silhouette. The bolero has a small pointed collar and 3/4 sleeves with turned back cuffs.

The fabric at the shoulders is pleated into the shoulder seams that is then released into the lapped bodice. The bodice is fitted through the waistline area then flairs out into the skirt. Black jet beading decorates the center front of the bodice and skirt. Princess seaming from the bodice to the hip area. Center back zipper closes the dress.

c. 1950s A beautiful black velvet and pink satin evening shawl that would compliment any evening gown. I think it could be worn with either side out. The black velvet does wrap around onto the pink satin side by at least 8 inches so that portion could be worn folded back over as a collar of sorts. Great piece.
