18th Centruy indigo blue shawl with block print in ivory. The information with the piece says, " this shawl was brought from Germany by old aunt Balchen in 1742. Now is that for real??? I do not know th efabric is absolutely early 19th century or 18th century. there is fading and water marks and the worst of all is that some fool cut off one of the corners. Still a wonderful example of early textiles.
