Amazing hat this one. A pretty rare example of this riding hat called a Rubens in France or a Rembrandt in England where it was also called a Van Dyke. The shape is also very similar to the Tyrolean. The material is brown wool felt with a faux brown curly lamb along the edge of the curled brim. The crown is accented with a silk thread wrapped cording. Brown glazed cotton-lining band. I am going to send a picture to my Friend Sue Langley to confirm this style. Will repost later with her reply. |

Pink silk velvet helmet cloche from the late teens era. The velvet covers a rigid structure of buckram. The velvet on the sides of the hat is pleated, draped and tucked and tacked in place. The lining is intact and is black silk chiffon with a printed label of "Cunningham" in gold that is now pretty faded but can still be read. |

Sweet pale pink silk chiffon bonnet that is totally ruched and pleated and has long front chiffon ties. The bonnet is a soft structure and is even lined in pleated chiffon. Probably a young girls bonnet but not too young because the bonnet itself is not for a small head. |

This fun undulating brim hat of gray felt and black silk ribbons dates from right at the turn of the century. The form is rigid and the crown is very small. Black silk ribbon flares out from the center front brim. The brim is covered in black satin. There are several spots on the brim that you can see the under structure through the silk. The brim is 8 inches wide at the center front. Definitely sending a pic of this to my friend Sue Langley author of The Bonnet Books. |

Natural straw hat with red and green fibers woven with the straw. The red and green fibers are dyed and are a natural fiber but what it is I am not sure. The hat has an off-width flipped brim and is built upon a buckram base. |
