C.1910s A sweet white net lace dress with a yellow sash. The bodice has two layers of net lace with bobbin lace panels. The v-neckline in front is boarder by a large matching ruffle. The inner bodice snaps up center front with n inset modesty panels. The outer bodice with ruffle laps right over left near the waistline. The bodice is attached to an inner tape for strength and support. This band hooks at the center front and the skirt snaps to it also. All of this is hidden beneath the yellow silk sash. The skirt is also done in two layers of net lace with the bobbin lace panels as accents.

C.1910s This is a gorgeous pink silk embroidered cape from Belgian with long pink silk cord ties with large pink tassels. The cape has several rows of shirring around the neckline to create a small standing collar. At the base of the shirring, a line of hand tied pink silk fringe trim runs around the neckline and down both sides of center front and around the bottom of the cape. A second row of matching trim is hand tied onto the tassels of the first row of fringe trim. A really beautiful cape!

C.1910s A simply lovely summer white embroidered dress making use f net lace, embroidery, crocheted lace, and bobbin lace. The net lace bodice has a v-neckline that is edged with a narrow machine lace. The skirt is attached to bodice above the natural waistline and is covered by the short little over blouse. The skirt is long and slightly narrow with a small train off the back. The pigeon waist of the bodice is created with an overlay of gathered net lace with swirling lines of narrow trim. The skirt is done in two layers with the bottom or inner layer being matching net lace. Over that is the amazing skirt of what can only be described as a sampler of someone’s wonderful needlework. The skirt is done in vertical panels consisting of bobbin lace, cut work and pin tucked net lace with appliqués of embroidered white lawn. The dress is just gorgeous and it is so much easier to look at the photos than for me to try and explain how the different panels are worked together to form this amazing dress. The short over blouse consists of all of the same types of lace as the dress and also hooks to close.

C.1900s A turn of century Amish black cotton quilted petticoat. The women from whom I got this from had reworked the waistband so she could wear it so the waistband is new and the pleating is also. She also set in a zipper. Beautiful hand quilting and a band of black velvet along the hem.

Small standing collar with hand embroidered and hand worked eyelet lace down the center front. Pin tucks boarder either side of the center front button placket. C.1850s C.1850s Madame Bon, 57 Rue Norte Dame de Lorette in Paris this bodice and the matching one below are a pair of matching dinner and ball gown bodice from the late 1850s. both bodices are constructed from cornflower yellow spotted silk broche taffeta with small bouquets of pink and green flowers embroidered on the taffeta. Both bodices are heavily bones with whalebone and lined in white sateen. This ball gown bodice laces up the back and has a v-shaped neckline and split short sleeves. Due to the conservative styling, fabric color and pattern these were probably made for a young women as part of her first grown up evening dress. This bodice has perspiration discoloration under the arms. The silk is still strong enough to be worn or displayed. The original building where the dressmakers housed their shop is still standing.

Due to the conservative styling, fabric color and pattern these were probably made for a young women as part of her first grown up evening dress. The whalebone on the back of this bodice has worked it’s way through the fabric on the inside of the bodice. There are also a couple of spots on the front. The silk is still strong enough to be worn or displayed. The silk is still strong enough to be worn or displayed.

C.1850s Black silk bodice with a glazed cotton lining. the bodice has little pleated sleeves and a rounded neckline. Slopping shoulders. Most of the original hooks and eyes are gone. On the left side where the eyes were you can see where they were pulled off taking a little bite of silk with them. Still a nice early piece.

C.1890s Black silk jacket with Bishops sleeves that are shirred at the wrist and flair out over the hand in a cuff. The full bodice of the coat has a rounded neckline that has a boarder with an embroidered muslin collar. The decoration on the collar is a looped basket weave that is done with a narrow cording. Between the loops the natural color of the cording is run in straight lines. In a couple of places this cording has come loose. Two additional embroidered panels run down the center front on the right and left side. Shoulder pleats extend down into the bodice of the jacket. The fullness of the bodice is gathered into the top seam line of the pleated cummerbund. Hooks and eyes close the jacket down the center front bodice through the cummerbund. The skirt of the jacket drapes freely. I found was two tiny tears in the silk on the back shoulder both not more than 1/4 inch long and the muslin collar is split along the fold for about 2inches on the back of the collar.

c.1890s Black silk waist with wide collar and lapels that are edged in jet beading. The collar is done in two parts, the first is the standing collar as seen front the front of the waist and across the back of the neck a high rolled collar that has squared edges. Both are decorated in black jet beading. At the center front bodice is a gathered inset that is gathered into the standing collar and into the pleated cummerbund waist sash. The waist is nipped in at the waistline and then flairs out over the top of the skirt. The sleeves are long and narrow with matching jet beading at the wrists.
