C.1890s This is a deep mourning dress in black silk with scalloped rows of tiny floral brocade. The bodice is fully boned. The inner bodice is of glazed black cotton and hooks up center front. There is a patch on the lining. The center front panel is row upon row of black silk crepe ruffles. A row of lace is on either side center front. The sleeves are long and narrow with two narrow bands of black velvet ribbon at the wrists. At one time there was a waistband of black velvet but only a tiny remnant remains. The skirt is lined in black glazed cotton and has two rows of ruffles along the hemline. A dust band of black velvet is on the inside bottom hem. There is a quarter-sized hole in the skirt and the waistband is damaged. The dress came from a store in Philadelphia called “Haasz�. |

C.1880s Brown silk bustle skirt with a side panel of printed velvet. The skirt is pleated with fullness towards the back. Fading is seen around the skirt. The skirt is lined in glazed brown cotton and has a center back bustle gathering. |

C.1900s The blouse is constructed of a double layer of white net lace with vertical rows of white machine lace and crocheted lace. The high standing collar and center front panel are white crocheted lace with round little balls covered in tiny French knots. The crocheted lace is laid over the net lace. Running vertically between the machine lace are lines of pin tucks of the net lace. Horizontal net lace pin tucks are used in three 2 inch wide panels at the center front and right and left side front. The long narrow sleeves has a center sleeve panel of the horizontal net lace pin tucks flanked by rows of machine lace. The blouse hooks up the center back to close. |

C.1890s This is still a beautiful piece even with the holes in the lace. The skirt is black silk tulle covered in tiny black gelatin sequins. I have taken pictures of the various holes and the one repair. The fullness is gathered to the back the skirt trains in back. |

C.1860s Incredible rare civil War era winter sleigh coat of black silk satin with white ermine fur and lined in quilted black silk. The coat is stuffed with swans down for warmth. Dropped shoulders and wide pagoda sleeves with a huge cuff of Ermine. What is truly amazing is the condition, the silk is perfect the ermine is perfect only a couple of holes in the lining where you can see the down. The back is box pleated |

C.1900 Black silk crepe cape with standing black lamb collar and French Knots. The cape is covered in French Knots using a heavy black silk embroidery thread. Usually I see the embroidery technique in a much smaller size never anything this ambitious. The cape is lined in black silk and the cape close with a narrow tie at the throat. The long narrow tie is fraying. |

C. 1900 Wonderful 2 pc dress that is a black silk satin under skirt or petticoat with red embroidered black net over. The black net is embroidered with crimson red triangles in silk thread. The high collar is pleated net with a row of black crocheted lace along the top of the collar. Across the center front/top of the bodice is an inset of fine cutwork lace set onto ivory silk with clocking. This silk has begun to split. Along the edge of the bodice where the ivory silk and lace meets the black there is a layer of three red on black gathered net ruffles. A festive black silk faille bow accents the center front. The bodice is fully boned and close up the center front with hooks. Banded waist edge. The long sleeves are slender and are of net over silk until below the elbow where the sleeve becomes just net. The cuff is appliques black silk. The net portion is attached inside of the silk and net sleeve having the appearance of a layered sleeve. Down the front of the bodice the net is pleated toward center. Bust 30, shoulders 14.5, sleeve 26 from shoulder, waist 22, length 16.5. the skirt is matching in construction of embroidered net over black silk. The net has three ruffles along hem and the under skirt,( or petticoat), has a knifed pleated ruffle 7.6 inches long attached. There is also a decorative waist of applique�s black silk which matches the cuffs. |

C. 1830s French silk brocade in a deep golden color. I guess they were going to update the dress but never got around to it after they took it apart! The bodice is intact. The lower pagoda sleeves are here. The upper sleeves too but the seam has been opened. Two skirt panels. Condition: Excellent on the health of the fabric |
