C. 1900s Lovely black handkerchief silk dress with knife pleated leg-o-mutton sleeves and pigeon waist bust. High rounded neckline and upper bodice is done in a self stripe black silk edged with black crocheted lace. The full sleeves end at the elbow region with a narrow lower sleeve. Matching black crocheted lace accents the division. The skirt at one time may have also been knife pleated but I think some fool steamed it out, the pleating can still be seen up at the waistline seam. The bodice is set on an inner camisole bodice with hook and eye closures. |

Early 19th Century Wonderful white cotton bodice or corset cover from the early 19th century. The front is all ruched panels with handmade eyelet lace. Hidden buttons close center front. The shoulders rest out on the edge of the shoulders that would fit the dress period I think it dates from. Hand work and early lock stitch. Work. There are some faint spots on the front of the garment. The short sleeves are tightly gathered into the bound shoulder seam and accented with matching hand made eyelet lace. |

1910 Beautiful white cotton lawn blouse with a very feminine ruffle that has pointed tips and clocking the neckline is open and rounded and center front buttons to close. The sleeves are long and narrow and are finished with a matching ruffle. On the main body of the blouse there are sets of three pin tucks, one 1/4 inch wide and the other two 1/8 inch wide. These pin tucks cover the blouse front and back. There are two small holes on the front right side near the arm seam.. |

C.1912 Lovely white China silk evening gown with embroidered and beaded white net lace over. The bodice of the dress is cut in one with the sleeves on both the silk and net lace. The v-neckline has a dotted Swiss modesty panel to the throat with a small standing collar. The v-line is edged in matching silk. Outside of the silk piping at the neckline is a double row of small clear crystal beads. Across the shoulders and the center front of the bodice is a floral design embroidered in white silk embroidery floss accented with matching crystal beads. The same design motif is used on the sleeves. The bodice and skirt join at the natural waist beneath a pleated waist sash extends around the waistline to the center back where it then drapes freely down the back until it is caught up and secured with stitching and then weighted with a tiny weight. The dress closes up the center back with hooks and eyes. The china silk of the skirt drops to the floor whereas the embroidered net lace spots short about 10 inches from the floor. The skirts net lace is decorated in the same design motif as the bodice with the scalloped edge trimmed in looped stitches of matching white silk embroidered floss. Now, there are some small brownish spots on the net in several places. The structure of the gown is totally sound and wearable. C. 1918 Black silk crepe dress with turquoise and black beading and black sequins. The dress is in two pieces; a long sleeve bodice of matching crepe set on black glazed cotton, which hooks up center front. The sleeves are long and slightly belled with side seam slits. The sleeves are covered in beaded and sequined designs. The sleeve is lined in turquoise silk chiffon that is splitting on the right sleeve but not on the left. The scoop neckline is edged with three rows of alternating beads. Four five inch squares of beaded and sequined decorations accent the dress at front and back and on the sides. Draped from these squares are wide panels of matching fabric. There is discoloration to the black from under arm perspiration. |

C. 1890s Lovely black silk satin dress in two pieces, a waist and full skirt. The waist hooks up the center front and is accented there with a jet beaded net ruffle. Vertical pleats further accent the front of the waist. Around the neckline is a standing collar edged with a matching jet beaded net ruffle and a small white silk chiffon ruffle set on the inside of the neckline. I think this bit of white was added later as this, I believe, is a mourning dress and would not have had the white. On each shoulder is a large matching black silk satin bow that drapes over to the front and the back of the waist. Black jet bead dangles hang from the ends of the bows draped edges. The sleeves are long and very narrow with black beaded rope trim around the wrist. At the top of the sleeve the fabric is caught up and under to create a bagged ruffle. Around the bottom edge is matching black beaded rope trim. The back of the waist has a center inverted vee-shaped pleat that begins at the shoulder blades and narrows to the very center back waist. The waist is fully boned and lined. The lovely skirt is of matching black silk satin with the fullness gathered to the center back. The quality of the fabric is very high as is the workmanship although no label is to be found on the garment. |

C. 1918 Brown and white windowpane plaid cotton blouse and skirt. The blouse has a very wide shawl collar that extends out and over the upper arms. Center front snaps close the blouse. The skirt is set on a white heavy cotton band with hooks and eyes to close. The skirt has several pleats on front and back from the waistband down. |

C. 1900 Lovely dotted Swiss cotton summer two piece dress with pigeon waist bodice. As you can see I forgot the slip, opps! But you can still see the shape in the larger pictures in the dresses photo gallery. The bodice is lined in white cotton and fully boned. The bodice has a small banded collar and closes up the center back. Vertical pleats accent the front of the bodice along with a little linen and crocheted lace dickey. the sleeves are moderately full and unlined. Cuffs are detailed with applied lace appliques. Bust is 36, shoulders 16, sleeve from shoulder is 25, waist is 32, bodice length is 15 at side seams. The skirt has a wide gathered flounce edged with matching appliques lace. The skirt is unlined so a lovely white lawn slip with slight train would be needed. |

C. 1900 Black cotton 2 pc dress with small lavender and lilac flowers with ivory stems and leaves. The bodice is lined with white muslin. Attached to the muslin at the center front are two panels of matching floral fabric that makes the center front of the bodice and hooks up center front. Small standing collar. The main portion of the bodice is attached left and right of center to the matching under panel just to center of the fabric and muslin seam. Pleats accent the front of the bodice. The long sleeves are pleated in at the shoulder seams and end at the wrist in two-inch cuffs. The full skirt is pleated into the waistband and ends in a ten-inch wide ruffle. |
