Vintage Robes

c. 1940s multi-striped rayon dressing gown in chartreuse, green, blue, purple and maroon. The v-neckline is boarder by a rolled collar that drapes freely past the base of the v-neckline. The draped ties can be tied into a bow or just knotted. A zipper closes the gown at the center front. Three-quarter sleeves with turned back cuffs. Darted bodice joins the full gored skirt of the dressing gown a slightly above the natural waistline and then falls freely to the hem. A couple of faint spots on the skirt but they disappear within the bright striping of the pattern.

C. 1930s Lovely black silk robe with yellow piping. The yellow silk piping on the cuffs and pocket has frayed, although it looks kind of cool that way, simialr to the frayed spidery edges in some 20s anad 30s garments. Inner waist tie and waist sash belt.

c. 1920s Lovely pink silk satin robe with lace edged back drape. Ecru lace edges all the edges of the garment. Along the bottom edge of the back drape is an attached matching lace ruffle. C. 1920s Another truly wonderful 1920s robe. A mellow gold silk embroidered in palest sage green and pink flowers. The came in it'spwn silk pouch along with a matching sleeping silk hat and long sash to close the kimono. I have never seen the complete set before only individual pieces so it is fun to have the complete set. The hat is made along the lines of an English Mop cap. The crown is pleated into the narrow, applied, one inch band and then extends below the band as a ruffle. A bow marks the front. Teh cap is embroidered to match. The long matching silk obi or sash has hand tied silk fringe onthe ends. and is 92 inches long. The lovely silk kimono is embroided on the cuffs of the sleeves and down the tow center front plackets. A teensy tear at the left armhole at the very bottom about 1/16 of an inch. Length is 60 inches. Condition: Excellent

C. 1950 Navy blue robe with white piping. The shawl collar is piped in white as is the sleeve cuffs and on the patch pockets. The self-belt has white fringe on ends. Bust measures 36-38 inches. Inside right side tie. Overall length is 54 inches. Condition is excellent.

c. 1940s A sweet floral cotton seersucker house coat with a floral print in pink, rose, blue and green. Center front buttons close the housecoat and it ties with a matching tie belt. Short puff sleeves and two small patch pockets on the skirt of the housecoat. Shirring at the upper arms at the shoulder seams and pin tucks on the front of the housecoat at the shoulder seams down onto the top of the bodice.
