c.1890s Black velvet carriage boots with ivory satin quilted lining for warmth. The tie ribbons laces are missing from the one boot. The edges are trimmed in black rabbit fur that is slightly rubbed along the top edge on the left boot and both are rubbed along the center front edges. Matching velvet tabs cross over the front and the laces loop through a buttonhole and the tie. The velvet is in perfect condition and the soles look like they have never touched the ground. I think maybe the other boots laces have never been attached.

C. VIC These brown leather boots are from at the latest 1860. They have neither a right or left and lace up the front of the boot. The top edge is scalloped and the toe is rounded and flat. The leather is in bad shape on these, cracked and split on the right boot inside back just above the ankle. eMark

C. VIC Brown leather Victorian side lace boots from the late 1860s or early 1870s. The boots have a right and left so they are after the Civil war but before the toe changed. There is a single original lace in each boot. Some nicks and cracks to the leather but it feels pretty supple still.
